He made me shed as many tears as I suppose the original old ballad did when I was six years old. In particular, among many surprising Escapes, the Jump through the Tea-chest; Flight from one Balcony to the other; a Leap over twelve Soldiers with fixed Bayonets; the Flight back and Jump through a Tamborine-and (for that night only) Simpson will run perpendicular up the Wall of a House, 30 Feet High.
